Why Paranormal Fiction?

It is easy to overlook the miraculous in the world. We get accustomed to seeing the world as we think it is. Nothing new seems to happen. Every experience readily repeats experiences we’ve already had.

But what if the opposite is true? Perhaps magic is everywhere. In the flight of birds; the people you pass in the street with their hidden thoughts, and their innumerable, unseen cells working ceaselessly to keep them alive.

Sure, it’s thrilling to be pulled into bizarre landscapes with amazing  heroes, but isn’t it even more exciting to discover the world you thought you knew in a different light? That is why I write paranormal fiction. I love weaving the known and the unknown together to create something new – empowering experiences that defy everyday understanding.

If you rewire your perception, everything in nature, including the human imagination, nurtures a state of awe.

Without some form of magic, our spirits grow brittle like old bones and age beyond our ability to heal. Spending time with Carver and Alicia reminds me that there are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
